Once Upon A Time in Flint

Many reels, apps, and algorithms ago, (2013) a few media pros and educators gathered to talk about digital media creation by young artists, called the Flint Youth Media Project (FYMP).

Over the decade, and after many workshops, internships and festivals and events, the youth themselves have helped us recognize how to design programming to their needs by age and by areas of interest in filmmaking and performing arts.

iMichigan Productions remains committed to following their lead as we strive to:

(1) Ensure that young creatives didn't get lost all alone in they laptops and to advance skills --- social/collaborative, problem-solving, and artistic, technical, and writing literacy, and

(2) Advance understanding that STREAM skills apply to filmmaking. (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics), and

(3) Prepare young filmmakers for media careers and/or higher education.
